Pure Energy

Well, another week and more energy drink cans found their way to me.

This week I got cans from four different brands.

The first is Gorilla Mind, White Gummy Bear.  There's no end to the flavors that come out.

The second is another Monster, this one being Ultra Red, White, and Blue Razz.

The third is C4, Cereal Killer.  I love that name and I bet it tasted good.

The fourth is Reign, Liberty & Justice for Apple.  HAHA!

This years marks America's 250th birthday so there are a lot of beverages coming out in that theme.  And when America turns 300 I'll collect those cans too!

New Designs

This week I got a couple of new designs from some old favorites.

The 7Up can is Zero Sugar Cherry-flavored.  The A&W is Zero Sugar Root Beer Float.  Both got a good review from the person who drank them.

Now let's get back to the obscure cans...

Stay Hydrated

During the recent heat wave, I kept hearing "Stay Hydrated".  That means finding cans of sparkling water for my collection.

These two cans came to me this week.  I hadn't heard of either brand before.

The first is Select Fare, a yummy-looking Sparkling Watermelon flavor.  The second is Topo Chico, this one being Lime with Mint flavor.

Whether it's soda or water (or tea or coffee or energy drink or juice, etc.), people need to stay hydrated and keep giving me their cans.

More Flavors

My daughter is home for the summer.  And she's made it a goal to try as many prebiotic sodas as she can.  I've encouraged her to keep up the good work (it gets me more cans).

Recent additions to my collection are above.  The main three brands she drinks are Bloom Pop, Olipop, and Poppi.  I'm not sure why all the names have to be so similar, must be a prebiotic soda rule.

She may drink the same flavor more than once because she's aware of can variants.  I've taught her well.

And summer isn't over, so I can expect more prebiotic cans to come.

Phorm

Last week I looked in a barrel at work and saw something interesting.

Inside were these three cans.  Quick note: when I find cans in the wild like that they get a very thorough cleaning before being processed and added to my collection.

So I saved them from imminent destruction and added a new brand to my collection.  Quick fact: I had never heard of this energy drink before and now I own Grape Smash, Screamin' Freedom, and Silver Lightning.

Quick tip: Always be aware of your surroundings.  Cans be hiding anywhere.

Olipop Week

The prebiotics continue to dominate the air waves.

Four new Olipop cans from my daughter.  These flavors are Banana Cream, Crisp Apple, Ginger Ale, and Raspberry Sherbet.

She's loving the sodas and I'm loving the cans.  More to come...

Jolts for July

The return of an old favorite from back in the day...

I remember stopping at gas stations back in the 1990's while running around with friends.  We didn't need the extra energy, but Jolt was our go-to beverage to take it up a notch.

Recently, someone I know started drinking Jolt and saving the cans for me.  So far I've received a can of the original flavor, one that tasted like Dr Pepper, and a limited edition Street Fighter can advertising the new movie.

I have older Jolt cans in my collection, so as soon as I find those I'll send the person pics of what the cans used to look like.

But for now I'll keep collecting the new cans.

ARIH

Another week, another new prebiotic soda brand.

This is called ARIH, a brand co-created by the K-pop group BTS.  The flavors of my original haul are Berry Bliss, Clear Lemon, Peach Mango Horizon, Pineapple Drift, Positive Orange, and Red Ruby Galore.  This is a pre- and post-biotic soda, double the colon comfort.

More flavors will be coming, but during this hot upcoming week I'll not worry about it.  I just want to Swim.

Hummingbirds

A few months ago my daughter questioned the extent of my can collection.  As an easy line I chose many years ago, I collect cans for drinks that don't contain alcohol.  I have nothing against alcohol, but it's a nice black/white line that determines whether it's in my collection or not.

She asked if I would collect a can for hummingbird nector.  YES!

She found the 16 oz can on the left and I said I'd take it!

A couple months later my parents surprised me with a can they bought at the store for hummingbird nector.  They had no idea I already had the 16 oz version, so it was awesome to get the smaller can of the same brand!  How weird is that?

My only question was how do the hummingbirds open the cans without having hands?  A bad dad joke, but worth it.

Summer in Bloom

Look at these prebiotic energy drinks!

It's a new era.  Prebiotic gut help AND energy drink.  Technology is great.

This week I feature three cans I recently got; Glacier Crush, Raspberry Lemon, and Shirley Temple.  It's amazing how many new flavor names are still being created for today's beverages.

Ok, whether good for my gut or not, next week I'll be looking for all new cans for my collection.

Red Bulls

Three new Red Bulls found their way to me recently.

The flavors are very unique, and each belongs to a different "Edition".  There's Cherry Sakura from the Spring Edition, Strawberry Apricot from the Amber Edition, and Sudachi Lime from the Summer Edition.

Now let's work on a line of better can designs and market them as the Can Collection Edition.

Two-Dew List

This week brought two new Mountain Dew cans.

We have the recent American Dew can and a slim can bearing the old logo.

Next week's to-do list includes collect more cans.

Four Monsters for May

I've got some new Monsters to show off.

This month's flavors are Ultra Blue Hawaiian, Ultra Violet, Ultra Wild Passion, and Strawberry Lemonade.  The Strawberry Lemonade can is a "Happy Birthday, America!" can, celebrating 250 years of the America being a country.

Before I get flooded with emails about "You've already featured the Ultra Blue Hawaiian can" (haha), this can is a variation.  The original one had a silver top, this one has a blue top.  As a collector you have to pay attention to the details.  Watch for different icons, different word placement, differences in the tops, etc.  Now go out there and find some variations!

Four Olipops

The prebiotic soda trend continues.  And this week I have four new Olipops to show.

Starting with a 7.5oz Crisp Apple.  Yum.
Followed by Peaches & Cream, Shirley Temple, and Watermelon Lime.

That's it.  Good for the guts, good for my collection.

The Class of 2026

Yesterday my daughter graduated with her Masters degree.  That was the biggest success of the day.  But there was a smaller success too... I got more cans.

Friends and family know I collect cans.  So when many of us gather it's not uncommon to be given cans they've saved for me.  Yesterday was no exception.  The more people, the more cans.

I got my first Martinelli's juice can, along with two more Izze's, a La Croix Lemon, a small Dr Pepper can, and another Bubbl'r flavor, Watermelon Lime Smash'r.

The haul also included four new Reign flavors: Orange Dreamsicle, Reignbow Sherbet (I see what they did there), Watermelon Sour Gummy, and White Gummy Bear.  And a new brand for me, El Jefe Energy Drink.  Those flavors are Pure White and Zuma Watermelon.  And to round it off, a Goya can of coconut water.

Quite the diversity.  Now they'll be placed in a box to enjoy post-college life with many other cans from all walks of life.

Plenty of Poppi's

I may have mentioned my daughter likes Poppi.

These are a few more cans from her that have collected in my pantry in the last few months.  The flavors are Doc Pop (their version on Dr Pepper), Cranberry Fizz, Alpine Blast (their version of Mountain Dew), Punch Pop, Ginger Fizz, Shirley Temple, Lemon Lime, Orange, Ginger Lime, and Wild Berry.

Believe it or not, there are even more flavors out there she hasn't tried yet.  But as soon as she does I'll be rewarded with more cans for my collection.

All Mountain Dews

As hinted at in last week's post, I pulled all of my Mountain Dew cans to show what I've collected over the years.

Here are all of my 12oz Mountain Dew cans.  While setting them up, I found a few favorites that I haven't seen in a while.  The two World of Warcraft Game Fuel cans have always topped my list of favs.  And I like the old steel cans, shown in the lower left corner of the pic.  And I don't remember where I got the Mountain Dew X test can (silver can up front in lower right corner), but it's a cool addition to the collection.

And here are my larger cans in the Mountain Dew lineup.  I especially like the fancy Black, Green, and White Label cans in the lower right corner.

And there you have it.  I could never dew this with my Coca-Cola or Pepsi cans, I have WAY too many.  Either would essentially be a mountain of cans.

More New Dews

And this week brought two more Mountain Dew cans to me.

This week I snagged another Baja flavor, Tropical Citrus Punch.  Is there no end to new flavors?

I also grabbed the first Dirty Mountain Dew, which is a cream soda flavor.

I've received a lot of Mountain Dew cans recently, so it made me wonder how many I have in my collection now.  It'll take some digging, but I plan on posting a pic of the Dew collection next week.  It will mainly be the normal 12oz size cans.  The bigger or slim cans are in a different part of my collection.  Now let's hope I find the time to dew it.

BUBBL'Rs

This week I feature three new BUBBL'R cans people have saved for me.

These are antioxidant sparkling waters that boost, energize, and restore balance (in case you can't read what the can says, haha).  This week's flavors are Peach Raspberry Dazzl'r, Tropical Dream'r, and Wild Cherry Chill'r.

These are some pretty cool designs.  I'm not sure they could make them any cool'r.

Java Monsters

These have been in my pantry for a while.  So it's time to get them out of there.

These are two Java Monster coffee energy drinks.  The first is Loca Moca and the second one Salted Caramel.  The second one sounds tasty to me.  I'm not sure where I got these, but I'm glad they found their way to me.

I drink black coffee every morning just to get going.  I can't imagine what coffee + energy would do for me.  And I'll probably never find out.
