Olipops 2

I posted earlier this year about some Olipop cans, here are some more...

These are an alternative to the highly popular brand poppi, both prebiotic sodas to help promote gut wellness.  These are vegan, paleo, gluten-free friendly additions to those types of diets.

Here we have Cherry Cola, Ginger Ale (with a nice holiday design), Vintage Cola, and Tropical Punch.

In addition, each flavor has its own unique, wordy description of the thoughts and feelings one may have while drinking these.  I admit, these detailed paragraphs are better than anything I ever read in Readers Digest.  Does that give away my age?

Bubble Milk Tea

Straight from Taiwan, we have these bubble beauties.

There is nothing about this that makes me want to drink it.  The word "milk" on a can makes my stomach turn.  Add the word "bubble" and it's even less appealing.  Yes, this is canned boba.

I bottom-opened the Taro Flavor can to drain it.  The thick liquid slowly came out, but the clump of boba bubbles was still in the can. So I had to open the top and shake 'em out.  I can't say this made the drink any more desirable in my eyes.

In my humble opinion, this "Taiwan classic" can stay in Taiwan where it's properly appreciated.  But that's just me.

Tall Fantas

And now two tall Fantas.

Recently Fanta had their Halloween can collection.  These are back to their everyday can designs.

These 16 oz cans are Grape and Pineapple flavor.  And what I like about these two cans in particular is the complimentary colors.

I'll be watching for more Fanta cans as the year comes to a close.

Two New Dews

And now my two newest Mountain Dew cans:

These are Cherry-Lemon and Dragon Fruit.  The Cherry-Lemon gets its flavor from the Trolli gummy candies.  I heard neither of these flavors were especially good, but I'll have to take their word for it.

I also like the similar vertical stripe theme.  Looks like pants Greg Brady, or should I say Johnny Bravo, might wear.  More of this please.

Little Cans

Every once in a while a smaller can will make its way to me.  These have been collecting in my pantry for a little while.  So here are the most recent little cans added to my collection.

We start with an 8oz V8 energy drink.  It's called Winter Berry.  So I suspect it's been on my shelf for at least 6 months, probably longer.

The next is my first Sparkling Ice 7.5oz can.  This one is Kiwi Strawberry-flavored.

Then a plain Diet Pepsi 7.5oz can.

And finally a 6.5oz can of Starbucks Espresso, which I found lying around at work.

A benefit of these little cans is they don't take up as much space.  But really, when you have around 10,000 cans in your collection a couple fluid ounces doesn't matter that much.

Halloween Fanta

This is exciting and disappointing.  So far, I've only collected 2 of the 5 Fanta Halloween special edition cans.

The first is Chucky's Punch, from the Child's Play movies.  The second is Orange, featuring Freddy Fazbear from the Five Nights at Freddy's movie (and video game).  Btw, the second movie in the series is set to release on Dec 5 of this year.

The can I really want is the Pineapple can featuring Michael Myers.  I'd seen the first Halloween movie years ago, but didn't realize twelve more had been made!  So I began a little journey to watch all thirteen movies in order before Halloween this year.  I barely met the deadline, but after watching Halloween Ends this morning I accomplished a major goal.  Now I need to accomplish the goal of getting a Michael Myers can...

Energy from Co-Workers

Another week, another 3 energy drink cans from co-workers.

Three brands, three sizes, three flavors.

The first is a 16oz Monster Energy Ultra Strawberry Dreams can.  Pink and pretty, they said it tasted really good.

The second is an 8.4oz Red Bull Watermelon can.  She said a rep came to her other job and handed these out.  So why not take a free sample?

The third is a 12oz Alani Nu Sherbet Swirl can.  Alani Nu always has colorful cans, and this one is no exception.  She said it was really good, also.

As long as my co-workers keep up the variety of what they drink, I'll stay energized at growing my can collection.

Let's Do Rehab

A couple more recent Monster finds at work.

These are Monster Rehabs.  Here we have Peach tea and Wild Berry Tea.

The "recover" aspect makes them nothing short of a miracle tonic:
  • Advanced hydration
  • Electrolytes
  • Reduced fatigue
  • Increased concentration
  • Vitamins
  • Coconut water
  • Botanicals
  • Can collection expansion
I may have added the last bullet point, but it's the most important one to me.  I feel better already.

Three More Monsters

I have a co-worker who is on a Monster kick!  And from this I've acquired a few new cans lately.

This is Ultra Blue Hawaiian, Ultra Vice Guava, and Zero Ultra, which isn't a new flavor to my collection but it does have a Call of Duty ad to make it a variant I didn't have yet.

As long as people keep drinking them, I'll keep collecting them.

Sponge Bob

Are you ready, kids?

As last week's post said, I recently visited my daughter in college.  One of her favorite sodas is Poppi, which I've done many posts about here.  But she also likes OLIPOP.  So I'm glad she got these special edition cans for me.

They are Pineapple Paradise flavored and feature Spongebob Squarepants.

I did see a few more yellow cans in her refrigerator, so they are either doubles of these or more designs coming.  I'll certainly feature them again if there are more designs.

Aye, aye, Captain.

Korean Taste Test

While visiting my daughter at college this weekend, she took us to a place that specializers in weird drinks (there's also food there).  She had found some small 8.05 fl oz cans there of various fruit juices and thought we could have a taste test with all four flavors.

We bought one of each can and waited for the other drinks to be made.  The cans are from Korea.

We got back to her apartment and the four of us tried each one, pouring 1/4 of each can into 4 glasses.  Each claimed to be pure fruit juice.  We like fruit juice, so this should be fun.

Orange - Very thick pulp.  None of us like pulp.

Grape - The can had four peeled, soggy, gooey grapes inside.  Coincidentally, each glass we poured into was awarded with one of the gross grapes.

Peach - Pure peach juice, no solids present.

Pear - Small white floaties, assuming small pieces of pear floating inside.

The results... peach won by far!  Although 75% disgusting, the taste test was fun nonetheless.

Pure Energy

As I've stated here before, I see a lot of energy drink cans at work.

Here are three of my recent acquisitions.  C4 strawberry blast, V8 strawberry kiwi sparkling energy drink, and Gorilla Mind bombsicle.  I was told that last one was very good, tasted just like the famous bomb pops.

Maybe my co-workers just need to get more sleep at night?

80's Crush

No, I'm not talking about Alyssa Milano or Daryl Hannah, I'm talking about this can.

The first cans I ever collected were the four retro Pepsi cans as they were released in the 1980's.
(I borrowed this pic from Google, my set is buried in a box somewhere)

But those were the only four I collected for a long time.  This current found of collecting started in April, 2011, with my very first post here.

But enough about me, this Electric Blue Razz Crush can is very rad.  Some might even say righteous.

Summer Monsters

I see a lot of energy drinks at work.  And these two cans caught my eye.

I featured an Ultra Peachy Keen in a previous post, but this is a variation of the other can.  Notice the Zero Sugar at the top of the can.  The other post had a red stripe around the top of the can, this one doesn't.

And this is my first Ultra Paradise can.  I love the muted green color of it.  Monster Energy certainly has some of the best looking cans out there.

If the green can is Frankstein's monster, what monster would the pink can be?

Bubbl'R

Yeah, weird name.

Earlier this summer I went to swim at my sister's house.  She had a pack of this all-natural, sparkling water energy drink.  I told her to save one of the cans for me.  She told me to just take one.  So I did.

It was just a week or two ago that I finally drank it.  I felt I needed a little extra energy, not to mention antioxidant and a little balance restoration.  And it was surprisingly good.  It wasn't the bland no-taste sparkling water, but had a surprising dash of wild cherry flavor.

Even with the weird name and a can that looks like it was designed in a kindergarten classroom, I highly recommend it.  After all, who couldn't use a little restoration to their balance?

Star Wars Collection

Someone sent an article to me a month ago or so.  It was an ad showing a new 30-can Star Wars set coming from Coca-Cola, each featuring a different character.

Pepsi did this in 1999 when The Phantom Menace came out.  You can read about my adventure with that here in this post.

There have been other Star Wars tie-ins also.  But these cans look really good, especially being red and black.

My first can is Kylo Ren.  I would love to have the whole collection, but I just don't have the time or patience for that kind of collecting now.  And I don't drink soda, so I can't just go out and buy a bunch of packs.

So I'll sit back and use the Force to will some more of them to come to me.  I wonder what a midi-chlorian flavored soda would taste like.

Ice Cream Sundae

I was surprised to see this can when my son brought it home one evening.

It's the first Ice Cream Sundae flavored soda in my collection.  I think.  And I love how the top of the can looks like it's dripping with chocolate.  I asked if it was good, he said it's ok.  Maybe not as good as a root beer float.

Definitely a neat idea.  And a neat can.

Newest Ski

Ski doesn't change their can design very often, so it's always exciting when I see a new one.

And that's what happened this week when I saw this can at someone's house.  I asked if I could have the can when they were done, received the usual confused looked from them, and then my collection was one can bigger.

It may be a while, but I'll be watching for their next design.

Coca-Cola Summer Cans

The Coca-Cola summer cans with phrases on them started showing up at work last week.

My first two are "Friend" and "Sis".

I'm not sure how many there are, but I'll keep my eyes open and grab any I don't already have.

Mountain Dew

I've been collecting cans with the new Mountain Dew logo recently, but there was one I still didn't have...

Just the regular, plain old Mountain Dew.

And now I have it.
